I created the visual design titled “HIKLAD 2026” as a creative marketing and digital art assignment for a multimedia design or event management subject. The coursework required us to develop a comprehensive event banner or promotional poster for an institutional campus celebration, integrating a specific pop-culture theme to make it engaging for a student audience. I designed this poster specifically for the CITTE Days “Hiklad 2026” intramurals or college week celebration, serving as the official visual concept for the CITTE Local Student Government at Caraga State University – Cabadbaran Campus.
My primary goal with this composition was to visually translate the event’s official theme, “Guardians Rising: Celebrating the Spirit of CITTE Through Creativity, Innovation, and Excellence.” I anchored the design around characters from the animated film Rise of the Guardians, using them as a metaphor for the unity, unique strengths, and protective spirit of the different student factions or departments within the college. To make the concept immediately clear, I aligned five custom department icons right above the characters, matching their respective thematic colors to represent how various student groups come together under a single institutional banner.
To capture a sense of wonder and cinematic grandness, I designed an expansive cosmic background featuring a starry nebula combined with vibrant green aurora borealis effects. I integrated dramatic cloud overlays at the top and bottom to frame the entire image, giving the poster a polished, dreamlike depth that pulls the viewer’s focus directly toward the center. For the typography, I used a bold, metallic 3D texture for the main event title, ensuring that “CITTE DAYS HIKLAD 2026” stands out clearly against the detailed backdrop while maintaining a clean, professional hierarchy for the official university details and contact handles.
Ultimately, this project served as a practical application of my advanced photo-manipulation, digital compositing, and branding skills. By delivering a cohesive promotional layout that balances official school identity elements with dynamic entertainment graphics, I wanted to show my instructor that I could design impactful, real-world media assets capable of driving student engagement and building campus school spirit.
